Day 4

The day before, I was told that I would take the place of Alex (a co-intern) on a TV5 shoot for today since she couldn’t make it on time. So I went to office at 6am this day since the shoot would be at 8am at the TV5 Headquarters. My co-intern from the creatives side was Kevin who came in a little later just in time for the van to pick us up. Ms Ina was the Accounts Executive with us who was as sweet as she was pretty. ;)

The trip was pretty long so good thing I was reading “The Five People You Meet in Heaven” by Mitch Albom. I started reading it the day before and by the time we got to TV5, I was finished with the book.

When we got to the studio, the shoot was to take place in this giant green room which they used for the hourly news updates and other news programs. They had to find another place to do the shoot since they would have to disassemble all the lighting every hour to give room for the news updates if they insisted to use the green room. They ended up setting up at a corner in the office to do away with the hassle of disassembling and reassembling every hour. However, we would later find out that the spot they set-upped in was where their interns would work. The lady in charge was pretty annoyed but she cooled down eventually.

The new additions to the News 5 team

This would be my initiation to the world of food that is happily part of being in the advertising industry. The production house from which the photographers are part of provided everyone with food for the duration of the shoot. At first they laid chips, cookies, and other snacks (and branded ones at that) on the table and a little later they had chicken, mojos and pizza from Shakey’s served. There were about 10 people to feed and the food could’ve easily served double the number of people. Overwhelmed, I ate more than I could so I was full the entire day.

The Foooooooood!

Kevin and I did nothing the entire time but take pictures and eat but we ain’t complaining. ;) We returned to the office around noon. We fell asleep during the ride back which is surprising because we weren’t supposed to be tired being we rested the entire morning.

When we got back to the office, we shared the experience with our co-interns who we found out went on various shoots as well. Others joined a Belo shoot, while others joined a Smart shoot.

Kevin and I doodled on the white board for a while then he returned to the creatives side while Karen and I returned to our table at the accounts wing. The rest of the day was pretty much boring in comparison to this morning.

Kevin is a fine arts student so it figures his artwork tops mine hands down.
